Arabella

Proposed New Law

Kendra’s Law of New York makes the State, Counties, Cities, Police, Courts, and Mental Health Departments responsible for mentally ill people.

The following statistics are available from New York after a five year study:

  • 3,908 individuals received treatment orders under Kendra’s law.
  • An average of 620 individuals per month, or 7747 individuals per year.
  • 74% fewer experienced homelessness,
  • 77% fewer experienced psychiatric hospitalization,
  • 83% fewer experienced arrest and 87% fewer experienced incarceration,
  • 55% fewer recipients engaged in suicide attempts or physical harm to self,
  • 49% fewer abused alcohol, 48% fewer abused drugs,
  • 47% fewer threatened physical harm to others.

Overall the average decrease in harmful behavior was 44%. Individuals
exhibiting good adherence to medication increased by 103% (from only
34% to 69%).

To fully understand the importance of this law please read the letters
that I have already sent to Gov. Gibbons. Also, please Google “Kendra’s Law” to
learn how comprehensive the law is.

I have sent all information on “Arabella’s Law” to every legislator in
the State of Nevada, and have received great response.
