A big hole in Nevada law often leaves people with mental illness on their own. And some say a proposed law could have saved a little girl who was murdered by her mentally ill mother.

AB368 Arabella's Law was passed by the assembly in the 2009 legislature but did not make it through the senate.

Sherri Love is sentenced to life with the possibility of parole after 56 years - essentially a life sentence.
